OpenAI's long-awaited GPT Store is set to launch in mid-January, enabling professional prompt engineers and enthusiasts to showcase and monetize their GPT-based applications.

The new store will provide end-users with a vast marketplace of chatbots tailored to specific domains.

The idea of a GPT store isn't new; it is similar to an existing service, POE, which aggregates multiple third-party language models and custom bots under one subscription.

Last June, OpenAI introduced "custom instructions," a feature enabling ChatGPT to respond based on custom pre-defined prompts; the GPT Store extends this capability, allowing users to publish their prompts.

OpenAI circulated an email to GPT builders outlining steps to prepare for the new store. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Review Updated Policies: GPT builders should review OpenAI's latest usage policies and brand guidelines to ensure compliance before the launch of the GPT Store.
  2. Verify Builder Profile: Builders need to verify their profiles in the settings, either by displaying their name or linking to a verified website, to establish their identity in the GPT Store.
  3. Publish GPTs Publicly: Builders must set their GPTs to 'Public' to be featured in the GPT Store. GPTs set as ‘Anyone with a link’ won't appear in the store, ensuring exclusivity and quality control.

The future of AI is very exciting. We will keep you updated as the store launches and provide practical examples of publishing your own prompts.
